Moving your body and mind with love

Hello everyone!

Valentine's Day is here.

While Valentine's Day has traditionally been focused on expressing love for another, this year I’m encouraging you to express love for yourself too. Maybe this loving kindness can be extended throughout the year.

And how could this help you to stress less, move and feel better?

Every action, word, thought, or movement can come from a place of love or harm, so I encourage you treat your body and mind with love. We are very good at telling ourselves how we could be better or our failings, so I encourage you to share some love towards your body and mind this valentines and beyond.

How can we show more love to our minds?

 1. Take a break: Give yourself permission to take a break from work or other commitments and do something that brings you joy.

2. Practice self-compassion: Speak kindly to yourself and focus on the things that make you unique and special.

3. Spend time with loved ones: Spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself and make you laugh.

4. Pamper yourself: Treat yourself to a massage, a facial, or a manicure.

5. Exercise & Movement: Exercise is a great way to show your mind and body some love. Take a walk, go for a run, or do some yoga. More on this below…

6. Listen to uplifting music: Music has the power to shift our mood. Find music that lifts your spirits and makes you feel good.

7. Journal: Journaling can be a great way to get in touch with your feelings and practice self-care.

8. Spend time in nature: Spend some time in nature and reconnect with the natural world, get out of your head and into the world!

9. Celebrate your successes: Take some time to recognize and celebrate your accomplishments.

10. Give yourself a break: Forgive yourself for any mistakes you

How can you show more love to your body?

Moving your body with love can help reduce stress and increase your physical and mental wellbeing. Maybe I’m biased but I believe one of the best ways to move your body with love is by doing yoga. Yoga is a great way to increase physical and mental mobility, improve balance, and reduce stress. It is also a great way to increase flexibility and reduce tension in the body.

Yoga helps you become more aware of your body and how it moves, which can be a great way to love yourself.

But all movement is good, especially movement practices that are enjoyable and bring you joy.

So, whether its Yoga, dance, running, or whatever way you love to move your body, if it brings you joy, you’re more likely to do it regularly.

Moving your body with love can help you to relax, build strength, and find joy in your body.

No matter how you choose to move your body this valentines and beyond, be sure to take the time to do it and do it with LOVE.

Moving with love is something of a specialty of mine and my In person and Online classes, workshops and retreats always encourage you to move yourself in a way that feels good, that suits your body, mind and brings you joy.

If you would like to join me for some Yoga, Mindfulness and Movement with love check out my Day Retreat this Sunday 19th February which is all about breathing, moving and resting your body from a place of love, plus you get a day off cooking lunch!
